B a-la-am bèn nói lời ca mình mà rằng: Ba-lác, vua Mô-áp, sai vời tôi từ A-ram, Từ những núi Đông-phương, và nói: Hãy đến rủa sả Gia-cốp cho ta! Hãy đến, giận mắng Y-sơ-ra-ên!

Balaam took up his speech and said: Balak, the king of Moab, has brought me from Aram, out of the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse Jacob for me; and come, violently denounce Israel.
