E -xơ-ra nầy từ Ba-by-lôn đi lên. Người là một văn sĩ thạo luật pháp của Môi-se, mà Giê-hô-va Đức Chúa Trời của Y-sơ-ra-ên đã truyền cho. Vì tay của Đức Giê-hô-va phù trợ người, nên vua ban cho người mọi điều người xin.

Ezra himself hath come up from Babylon, and he a scribe ready in the law of Moses, that Jehovah God of Israel gave, and the king giveth to him -- according to the hand of Jehovah his God upon him -- all his request.
