N hiều thầy tế lễ, người Lê-vi, trưởng tộc, tức là những người già cả đã thấy đền thờ trước, bèn khóc tiếng lớn trong khi người ta xây nền của đền mới tại trước mặt mình. Cũng có nhiều người khác lại la tiếng lớn vui mừng hớn hở;

But many of the priests and Levites and chief fathers, the ancient men that had seen the first house, wept with a loud voice, the foundation of this house was laid in their sight; and many shouted aloud for joy.
