N ăm thứ tám đời người trị vì, khi người hãy còn trẻ tuổi, thì người khởi tìm kiếm Đức Chúa Trời của Đa-vít, tổ phụ người; năm thứ mười hai, người khởi dọn sạch Giu-đa và Giê-ru-sa-lem, trừ bỏ những nơi cao, thần A-sê-ra, tượng chạm và tượng đúc.

For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.
