О днако же от Адама и до Моисея смерть уже царствовала и над теми, кто не согрешил как Адам, преступив Божий запрет. Адам, в каком-то смысле, является прообразом Того, Кто должен был прийти.

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
