L uego todo el pueblo de la tierra entró en el templo de Baal y lo derribaron. También despedazaron completamente sus altares y sus imágenes, y mataron a Matán, sacerdote de Baal, delante de los altares. Después el sacerdote puso una guardia en la casa de Jehová,

All the people of the land went to the house of Baal, and broke it down; his altars and his images broke they in pieces thoroughly, and killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. The priest appointed officers over Yahweh’s house.
