C uando Abner volvió a Hebrón, Joab lo llevó aparte, a un lado de la puerta, como para hablar con él en secreto; y allí, en venganza por la muerte de su hermano Asael, lo hirió a la altura de la quinta costilla, y lo mató.

And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him quietly, and smote him there under the fifth rib, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.
