E ntonces el pueblo le dijo a Saúl: «¿Tiene que morir tu hijo Jonatán, cuando ha sido él quien salvó al pueblo de Israel? ¡De ninguna manera! Juramos por el Señor que ni uno solo de sus cabellos caerá a tierra. Lo que él hizo hoy, lo hizo de acuerdo al plan de Dios.» De esta manera el pueblo de Israel impidió la muerte de Jonatán.

And the people said to Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who has wrought this great salvation in Israel? Far be it! Jehovah liveth, there shall not a hair of his head fall to the ground; for he has wrought with God this day. So the people delivered Jonathan, that he died not.
