J osé de Arimatea era discípulo de Jesús, aunque por miedo a los judíos lo mantenía en secreto. Después de todo esto, José le rogó a Pilato que le permitiera llevarse el cuerpo de Jesús, y Pilato se lo permitió. Entonces José fue y se llevó el cuerpo de Jesús.

And after these things Joseph of Arimathaea, who was a disciple of Jesus, but secretly through fear of the Jews, demanded of Pilate that he might take the body of Jesus: and Pilate allowed it. He came therefore and took away the body of Jesus.
