D avid levantó los ojos y, al ver al ángel del Señor, que estaba entre el cielo y la tierra, y con la espada en la mano, desenvainada y extendida contra Jerusalén, tanto David como los ancianos se postraron sobre sus rostros y se cubrieron de cilicio.

And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of Jehovah standing between earth and heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.
