E ntonces dijo David: «Voy a tratar con misericordia a Janún hijo de Najás, porque también su padre me trató con misericordia.» Entonces envió unos mensajeros para expresarle sus condolencias por la muerte de su padre. Pero cuando los mensajeros de David llegaron a la tierra de los amonitas para consolar a Janún,

David said, “I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me.” So David sent men to bring him comfort in his sorrow for his father. David’s servants came to Hanun in the land of the sons of Ammon, to bring him comfort.
