E ntonces Eliseo dejó la yunta y corrió tras Elías, pero le dijo: «Permíteme despedirme de mi padre y de mi madre y besarlos; después de eso te seguiré.» Y Elías le respondió: «Puedes ir. Yo no te lo voy a impedir.»

So he left the oxen and ran after Elijah and said, Let me, I pray thee, kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow thee. And he said unto him, Go back again, for what have I done to thee?
