P eleó también contra los moabitas y, como los derrotó, hizo que se tendieran en el suelo para medirlos con un cordel; a los que quedaban dentro de dos medidas del cordel, los mataba, pero dejaba con vida a los que quedaban dentro de una medida de cordel. Así los moabitas se convirtieron en sus súbditos y tuvieron que pagarle tributo.

Then he defeated Moab. Forcing them down to the ground, he measured them off with a line. With two lines he measured off those to be put to death, and with one full line those to be kept alive. So the Moabites became David’s servants, and brought tribute.
