A l año siguiente, en el tiempo en que los reyes salen a la guerra, David envió a Joab y a sus siervos, y a todo el ejército de Israel, a combatir a los amonitas, a los que vencieron luego de ponerle sitio a la ciudad de Rabá. David se quedó en Jerusalén,

¶ And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab and his slaves with him and all Israel, and they destroyed the sons of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.
