К огда Авенир возвратился в Хеврон, то Иоав отвел его внутрь ворот, как будто для того, чтобы поговорить с ним тайно, и там поразил его в живот. И умер за кровь Асаила, брата Иоавова.

And Abner turneth back to Hebron, and Joab turneth him aside unto the midst of the gate to speak with him quietly, and smiteth him there in the fifth -- and he dieth -- for the blood of Asahel his brother.
