L ocuitorii Sihemului au pus la pîndă împotriva lui, pe vîrfurile munţilor, nişte oameni, cari jăfuiau pe toţi cei ce treceau pe lîngă ei, pe drum. Şi lucrul acesta a fost adus la cunoştinţa lui Abimelec.

The men of Shechem went against Abimelech by hiding men on the mountain tops. They robbed all who passed by them on the road. Abimelech was told about it.
