Ş tiu să trăiesc smerit, şi ştiu să trăiesc în belşug. În totul şi pretutindeni m'am deprins să fiu sătul şi flămînd, să fiu în belşug şi să fiu în lipsă.

I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
