A u tăiat ancorele, ca să le sloboadă în mare, şi au slăbit în acelaş timp funiile cîrmelor; apoi au ridicat ventrila cea mică după suflarea vîntului, şi s'au îndreptat spre mal.

And casting off the anchors, they left them in the sea, at the same time loosing the bands of the rudders; and hoisting up the foresail to the wind, they made for the beach.
