D upă ce au ridicat -o în sus, au întrebuinţat mijloace de ajutor, au încins corabia cu frînghii; şi, de teamă să nu cadă peste Sirta, au lăsat pînzele în jos. Astfel s'au lăsat mînaţi de vînt.

When they had taken it on board, they used cables to undergird the ship; and fearing lest they should run aground on the Syrtis Sands, they struck sail and so were driven.
