V ai de voi, cărturari şi Farisei făţarnici! Pentrucă voi înconjuraţi marea şi pămîntul, ca să faceţi un tovarăş de credinţă; şi, după ce a ajuns tovarăş de credinţă, faceţi din el un fiu al gheenei, de două ori mai rău decît sînteţi voi înşivă.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel around by sea and land to make one proselyte; and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much of a son of Gehenna as yourselves.
