Ş i tu, Betleeme Efrata, măcar că eşti prea mic între cetăţile de căpetenie ale lui Iuda, totuş din tine Îmi va ieşi Cel ce va stăpîni peste Israel, şi a cărui obîrşie se suie pînă în vremuri străvechi, pînă în zilele veciniciei.

But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
