D acă ar fi intrat la tine nişte hoţi, sau nişte tîlhari de noapte, -cum eşti de pustiit! -ar fi luat ei oare mai mult decît ar fi putut? Dacă ar fi venit nişte culegători de vie la tine, n'ar fi lăsat ei niciun strugure pe urmă?

If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes?
