D ar acum înfăţişarea le este mai negricioasă decît funinginea; aşa că nu mai sînt cunoscuţi pe uliţe, pielea le este lipită de oase, uscată ca lemnul.

Now their appearance is blacker than soot; They go unrecognized in the streets; Their skin clings to their bones, It has become as dry as wood.
