C i voim să facem cum am spus cu gura noastră, şi anume: să aducem tămîie împărătesei cerului, şi să -i turnăm jertfe de băutură, cum am făcut, noi şi părinţii noştri, împăraţii noştri şi căpeteniile noastre, în cetăţile lui Iuda şi în uliţele Ierusalimului. Atunci aveam pîne de ne săturam, eram fericiţi, şi nu treceam prin nici o nenorocire!

But we will certainly perform every word of the vows we have made: to burn incense to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings to her as we have done—we and our fathers, our kings and our princes—in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had plenty of food and were well off and prosperous and saw no evil.
