N u vă uitaţi că sînt aşa de negricioasă, căci m'a ars soarele. Fiii mamei mele s'au mîniat pe mine, şi m'au pus păzitoare la vii. Dar via frumuseţii mele n'am păzit -o.

Look not upon me, because I am black, because the sun hath looked upon me: my mother's children were angry with me; they made me the keeper of the vineyards; but mine own vineyard have I not kept.
