D avid a ridicat ochii, şi a văzut pe îngerul Domnului stînd între pămînt şi cer, şi ţinînd în mînă sabia scoasă şi întoarsă împotriva Ierusalimului. Atunci David şi bătrînii, înveliţi cu saci, au căzut cu faţa la pămînt.

David lifted up his eyes, and saw Yahweh’s angel standing between earth and the sky, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces.
