M enahem a ridicat argintul acesta dela toţi cei cu avere din Israel, ca să -l dea împăratului Asiriei; i -a pus să dea fiecare cîte cincizeci de sicli de argint. Împăratul Asiriei s'a întors înapoi, şi nu s'a oprit atunci în ţară.

And Menahem exacted the money of Israel, of all those who were wealthy, of each man fifty shekels of silver, to give to the king of Assyria. And the king of Assyria turned back, and stayed not there in the land.
