A bsalom s'a pomenit în faţa oamenilor lui David. Era călare pe un catîr. Catîrul a pătruns subt ramurile încîlcite ale unui mare stejar, şi capul lui Absalom s'a prins de stejar; a rămas astfel spînzurat între cer şi pămînt, şi catîrul care era subt el a trecut înainte.

And Absalom chanced to meet the servants of David. And Absalom was riding upon his mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great oak, and his head caught hold of the oak, and he was taken up between heaven and earth; and the mule that was under him went on.
