N aquela época não havia rei em Israel, e a tribo de Dã estava procurando um local onde estabelecer-se, pois ainda não tinha recebido herança entre as tribos de Israel.

In those days there was no king in Israel, and in those days the tribe of the Danites sought for themselves an inheritance to dwell in; for to that day had not fallen to them for inheritance among the tribes of Israel.
