A ssim, ele os humilhou e os deixou passar fome. Mas depois os sustentou com maná, que nem vocês nem os seus antepassados conheciam, para mostrar-lhes que nem só de pão viverá o homem, mas de toda palavra que procede da boca do Senhor.

He let you be hungry which helped you to not have pride. Then He fed you with bread from heaven which you and your fathers had not known. He did this to make you understand that man does not live by bread alone. But man lives by everything that comes out of the mouth of the Lord.
