p ois, andando pela cidade, observei cuidadosamente seus objetos de culto e encontrei até um altar com esta inscrição: AO DEUS DESCONHECIDO. Ora, o que vocês adoram, apesar de não conhecerem, eu lhes anuncio.

For as I passed along, and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: ‘TO AN UNKNOWN GOD.’ What therefore you worship in ignorance, this I announce to you.
