D epois subiu ao templo do Senhor acompanhado por todos os homens de Judá, todo o povo de Jerusalém, os sacerdotes e os levitas: todo o povo, dos mais simples aos mais importantes. Para todos o rei leu em alta voz todas as palavras do Livro da Aliança, que havia sido encontrado no templo do Senhor.

The king went up to Yahweh’s house, and all the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the priests, and the Levites, and all the people, both great and small: and he read in their ears all the words of the book of the covenant that was found in Yahweh’s house.
