A mazias reuniu os homens de Judá e, de acordo com as suas respectivas famílias, nomeou chefes de mil e de cem em todo o Judá e Benjamim. Então convocou todos os homens com mais de vinte anos e constatou que havia trezentos mil homens prontos para o serviço militar, capazes de empunhar a lança e o escudo.

Moreover Amaziah gathered Judah together, and ordered them according to their fathers’ houses, under captains of thousands and captains of hundreds, even all Judah and Benjamin: and he numbered them from twenty years old and upward, and found them three hundred thousand chosen men, able to go out to war, who could handle spear and shield.
