C ontudo, não matou os filhos dos assassinos, de acordo com o que está escrito no Livro da Lei de Moisés, onde o Senhor ordenou: “Os pais não morrerão no lugar dos filhos, nem os filhos no lugar dos pais; cada um morrerá pelo seu próprio pecado”.

But the children of those that smote he did not put to death; according to that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein Jehovah commanded saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
