O rei Salomão perguntou à sua mãe: “Por que você pede somente a sunamita Abisague para Adonias? Peça logo o reino para ele, para o sacerdote Abiatar e para Joabe, filho de Zeruia; afinal ele é o meu irmão mais velho!”

King Solomon answered his mother, And why do you ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom also—for he is my elder brother— even for him and for Abiathar the priest and Joab son of Zeruiah.
