H oje ele foi matar muitos bois, novilhos gordos e ovelhas. Convidou todos os filhos do rei, os comandantes do exército e o sacerdote Abiatar. Agora eles estão comendo e bebendo com ele e celebrando: ‘Viva o rei Adonias!’

For he is gone down this day, and has sacrificed oxen and fatted cattle and sheep in abundance, and has invited all the king's sons, and the captains of the host, and Abiathar the priest; and behold, they eat and drink before him, and say, God save king Adonijah!
