Q uando Abner retornou a Hebrom, Joabe o chamou à parte, na porta da cidade, sob o pretexto de falar-lhe em particular, e ali mesmo o feriu no estômago. E Abner morreu por ter derramado o sangue de Asael, irmão de Joabe.

And when Abner was returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside in the gate to speak with him secretly, and smote him there in the belly, that he died, for the blood of Asahel his brother.
