M as o Senhor lhe respondeu: “Não será assim; se alguém matar Caim, sofrerá sete vezes a vingança”. E o Senhor colocou em Caim um sinal, para que ninguém que viesse a encontrá-lo o matasse.

Yahweh said to him, “Therefore whoever slays Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold.” Yahweh appointed a sign for Cain, so that anyone finding him would not strike him.
