Î n timp ce Samuel aducea arderea de tot, filistenii se apropiau ca să se lupte cu Israel. Domnul însă a tunat în ziua aceea cu un vuiet puternic împotriva filistenilor, aducând o aşa groază între ei, încât au fost puşi pe fugă dinaintea lui Israel.

And as Samuel was offering up the burnt-offering, the Philistines advanced to battle against Israel. And Jehovah thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were routed before Israel.
