C uvântul lui Samuel a ajuns la tot Israelul. În vremea aceea, Israel a ieşit la război împotriva filistenilor, aşezându-şi tabăra la Eben-Ezer, în timp ce filistenii şi-au aşezat tabăra la Afek.

And the word of Samuel came to all Israel. Now Israel went out against the Philistines to battle, and pitched beside Ebenezer: and the Philistines pitched in Aphek.
