O ri de câte ori venea duhul trimis de Dumnezeu asupra lui Saul, David lua lira şi cânta. Atunci Saul avea parte de alinare, se simţea mai bine, iar duhul cel rău pleca de la el.

When the spirit from God was on Saul, David took the harp, and played with his hand; so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.
