T atăl său şi mama sa nu ştiau că lucrul acesta era îngăduit de Domnul, căci El căuta un prilej ca să-i provoace pe filisteni. În vremea aceea filistenii stăpâneau peste Israel.

His father and mother did not know that it was of the Lord, and that He sought an occasion for assailing the Philistines. At that time the Philistines had dominion over Israel.
