Î ntr-adevăr, când Iosua şi oştirea lui Israel au văzut că cei ce stătuseră la pândă capturaseră cetatea şi că se ridica fum din cetate, s-au întors împotriva oamenilor din Ai şi au început să-i lovească.

Joshua and all Israel saw that the men who had been hiding had taken the city. They saw the smoke from the city, so they turned around and killed the men of Ai.
