D e acolo am plecat mai departe pe mare, iar a doua zi am ajuns vizavi de Chios. O zi mai târziu am sosit în Samos, (apoi ne-am oprit în Troghilion,) iar în ziua următoare am ajuns în Milet.

The next day we went by ship to a place beside the island of Chios. The next day we crossed over to the island of Samos. Then the next day we came to the city of Miletus.
