C etatea Ierusalimului a păcătuit mult şi de aceea a ajuns murdară. Toţi aceia care o cinsteau, acum o dispreţuiesc, fiindcă i-au văzut goliciunea. Ea însuşi suspină şi îşi întoarce faţa.

Jerusalem hath grievously sinned; therefore is she removed as an impurity: all that honoured her despise her because they have seen her nakedness; and she sigheth, and turneth backward.
