C ine va rămâne în cetatea aceasta va muri ucis de sabie, de foamete sau de molimă; dar cine va ieşi să se predea caldeenilor care vă asediază, va trăi şi viaţa lui îi va fi singura pradă.

He who lives in this city will die by the sword and by hunger and by disease. But he who goes out and gives himself up to the Babylonians whose armies shut you in will live, he will at least have his life.
