Î mpăratul Asiriei l-a trimis din Lachiş pe Rab-Şache la regele Ezechia, la Ierusalim, însoţit de o oştire puternică. El s-a oprit la canalul de apă al Iazului de Sus, pe drumul către Ogorul Spălătorului.

And the king of Assyria sent Rabshakeh from Lachish to Jerusalem unto king Hezekiah with a great army. And he camped by the conduit of the upper pool in the highway of the washer’s field.
