C ând Moise şi-a întins toiagul spre cer, Domnul a trimis o furtună cu grindină şi trăsnete care au căzut pe pământ. Domnul a făcut să cadă grindină peste ţara Egiptului:

Moses stretched out his rod toward the heavens, and Yahweh sent thunder, hail, and lightning flashed down to the earth. Yahweh rained hail on the land of Egypt.
