T ânăra i-a plăcut lui Hegai şi a găsit bunăvoinţă înaintea lui, astfel că acesta s-a grăbit să-i aducă lucrurile pentru înfrumuseţare şi partea ei de hrană. Apoi i-a dat şapte slujnice, alese din palatul împăratului, şi a dus-o împreună cu slujnicele în cea mai bună încăpere a haremului.

And the maiden pleased him, and obtained favour before him; and he speedily gave her her things for purification, and her portions, and the seven maidens selected to be given her, out of the king's house; and he removed her and her maids to the best of the house of the women.
