C ând s-a auzit de porunca împăratului şi de decretul său, au fost strânse un mare număr de fete în citadela Susei, sub supravegherea lui Hegai. Estera a fost luată şi ea la palatul împăratului şi încredinţată lui Hegai, supraveghetorul femeilor.

So, when the king’s commandment and his decree was heard, and when many maidens were gathered together to the citadel of Susa, to the custody of Hegai, Esther was taken into the king’s house, to the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women.
